Artscope Camps
& Workshops

At Artscope, we are dedicated to making arts education accessible to the youth and families of St. Louis through a range of camps, classes, and workshops held year-round.

Our School’s Out Camps offer a creative and engaging environment for children during school holidays and seasonal breaks. During the summer, we host a 10-week Summer Camp that provides an immersive experience, allowing campers to explore the victorian landscape of Tower Grove Park while developing their creative skills.

Beyond enriching young lives, our camps also support local artists and educators by providing equitable supplementary income, fostering a strong and supportive arts community in St. Louis.

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs
Q: What sets Camp Create apart?

A:

  • Camp Create is a week-long, immersive, artist-led experience.

  • Our staff is entirely made up of local teachers and artists.

  • Students will explore community, arts, nature and facilitation during their week at Camp Create.

  • We lead by example and model behavior that builds community within camp.

  • We are here to support the success, enrichment, and joy of each child.

  • We are discovery led, and encourage students to identify and reflect on their interactions with the world around them through the lens of lifelong artistry.

  • We strive to see ourselves in each other, and to approach each day with genuine empathy and connection.

  • We strive to utilize education as a collaborative art form, and are so excited for our cohort to learn, create, and discover right along with your camper!

Q: What age range does Camp Create cater to?

A: Camp Create is designed for students ages 5 - 10 years old. This age range ensures that students are comfortable with a full day of instruction in a classroom environment. If a parent is confident that their child can handle the full day and follow our expectations, they are welcome to join. However, if a child isn't able to abide by the expectations, they'll need to be picked up from camp.

Q: How do I find Artscope?

A: We recommend using "Artscope" as your GPS destination rather than "2929 Tower Grove Ave." Enter the park on Kingshighway between Arsenal and Magnolia, and follow the road split to your right up to our cottage. We are located at the corner of Arsenal and Tower Grove Ave, across the street from the Turkish Pavilion (red and white striped roof).

Q: Are Artscope Camps held indoors or outdoors?

A: Our School's Out Camps during the school year are typically held indoors due to the smaller class capacity of 10 kids, with some outdoor playtime mixed in. Our summer camp is primarily held outside under our shaded porch. On hotter days, we often rotate each class to have at least one indoor project to cool off, allowing kids to take breaks as needed, and incorporate lots of water playtime. During inclement weather, such as severe storms or heat waves, we move all activities indoors for the day, hosting classrooms downstairs in our studio and upstairs in our office.

Q: Is Camp Create accessible for people with disabilities?

A: Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of our studio, our building is not wheelchair accessible. We are planning this summer to have more accessible bathrooms available than in previous years. While we spend lots of time outdoors, voices can reverberate loudly in our stone building, so those with auditory sensitivities might be more comfortable with noise-dampening devices.

Q: What is the refund policy for Camp Create?

A: Eligible for a full refund if cancellation request is received before May 1, 2025.

After May 1, only camp transfers are available with approval by Artscope team.

Disclaimer: $10 fee per camp week transfer. Terms subject to change.

Q: Are masks required at Camp Create?

A: Masks are recommended in close quarters, but not required as per current CDC recommendations.

Q: Does Camp Create offer before or after care?

A: We offer aftercare services during our summer camp at $100/per week from 3 - 6pm.

Q: Is there financial aid available for Camp Create?

A: Our financial aid is accessible by reaching out to info@artscopestl.org. If you're able to pay it forward, consider making a donation to our scholarship fund to help provide free camp weeks to local families. Donate here.
